This time last week I was on my way to a surprise weekend away, planned by my boyfriend to celebrate our five year anniversary.
Little did I know I was off to spend the weekend in the beautiful Cotswolds. We stayed in a little village called Lechlade, our hotel was in between various quirky tea rooms and antique shops.
My boyfriend had planned out all the places to see, we started of visiting the breath-taking Blenheim Palace, where we stopped off for coffee within the gardens. We also visited other small villages including Woodstock and Bourton-on-the-Water.
In the evening we both dressed up and I was taken to a cute Italian restaurant called La Galleria. We exchanged gifts and I was given the most perfect present, a vintage fresh water white pearl necklace with a locket with a photo of my nana and me and my boyfriend in. My nana will always be looking over us.
We finished off the weekend visiting Britain’s most romantic street Copse Hill Road in Lower Slaughter. The stream running through the village is crossed by two small bridges and the local attraction is a converted mill with original water wheel.
I wish I could re-do the weekend all over again!
